    Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

The belly belt is completely different to what I'm used to! What's that about?

The abdominal belt fixes the Blackfly to the body! This means that it sits firmly on the body during the ever-popular burpees, for example, and doesn't wobble around!
It is NOT intended to shift the weight onto the pelvis!

The shoulder straps seem to be unusually tightly padded! Why is that?

Compared to a "normal" backpack, the shoulder straps are relatively tightly padded with EVA foam.
Advantage: Long service life! No constriction under high loads! The force is transferred across the body!
Similar to a good leather boot that initially pinches a little, the Blackfly needs to be broken in!

What is the correct carrying position when backpacking?

When doing weighted rucks, carry the Blackfly as high up as possible! The high center of gravity trains the abdominal and back muscles! Under no circumstances should the Blackfly and the weight on your bottom wobble around. That is counterproductive!
So: lash the Blackfly up! Higher! Already feeling stupid? Then even higher! Of course, you can wear it "normally" in everyday life when you go to get a bread roll.

Why is the Blackfly made entirely of 1000D Cordura?

Some well-known backpack manufacturers use 200D nylon for the back and shoulder straps. Great! No more annoying chafing when you're jumping around half-naked! Personally, I like to wear shirts when I'm sweating and I like it when the back doesn't slide around on 200D nylon!
